Founded in 2009 by Romanians Emi Gal and Andrei Baragan, Brainient got sold to Teads, the France-based video ad tech company.

“We will continue to operate as an independent business unit as part of Teads, rebranded as Teads Studio“, said Gal on Braininet’s blog, adding that “I once read that overnight success usually takes 15 years. For Andrei and myself, it took 10“.
With offices in London, Bucharest, Paris and Moscow, Brainient provides creative technology for building interactive ads across video, mobile, display and Connected TV. The start-up got 2.65 million $ in equity funding in 3 financing rounds from 10 investors [crunchbase.com].

Although we don’t know the transaction figures “a source told me that the startup had previously fielded offers of around $10-12 million“, said Steve O’Hear in his article from TechCrunch.
